The 2nd Annual Streamy Awards
It started in 2008—marked by a moment in the history of entertainment. Studios and independent creators were, for the first time, competing for audience on a level playing field.
In 2009, the Streamy Awards became the first ever award show to honor the achievements of the directors, producers, and performers behind this renaissance in creative expression. They captured the spirit of an emerging ethos of independence by recognizing the best in digital entertainment without regard to budget or provenance.
Presented by the International Academy of Web Television, the Streamy Awards are the leading voice in open online entertainment, recognizing excellence in episodic video programming created for broadband distribution across 35 creative categories, from acting and directing, to editing and special effects. Members of the International Academy of Web Television review shows submitted through a free, public submissions process and vote on the final nominees for each category. The Audience Choice Award for Best Web Television Series is selected solely by public vote.
Winners of the 2nd Annual Streamy Awards will be announced LIVE at the Streamy Awards Ceremony in Los Angeles, California on April 11, 2010.
The Streamy Awards are invite-only. Attendees include members of the International Academy of Web Television, Official Nominees, past winners, and special guests.
This year, a very limited number of tickets to the Streamy Awards Ceremony will be made available to the public on an invitation only basis.
Invited guests are reminded that the Streamy Awards presentation is a private-invitation-only function. Tickets are not transferable. By accepting tickets to the Awards presentation, you are agreeing that you will not in turn sell them or give them away. Any person in attendance who is not an invited guest or accompanying an invited guest may be subject to prosecution. All purchases are non-refundable and non-transferable. Pre-payment is required on all purchases. Tickets will not be available at the event.

The Streamy Awards
Online entertainment has come into its own. Major production studios,
independent new media producers, and a swath of talent ranging from
Hollywood celebrities to overnight internet sensations contributed to
the development of a distinctive and vibrant new medium. It's time it
got its own awards.
The Streamy Awards were created to recognize and honor outstanding achievement for shows produced
originally for broadband distribution, and recognize both the shows
themselves and the people who make them possible, through awards in 35 categories covering the arts and sciences of making web television. The
winners of the Streamy Awards will be celebrated at a live ceremony, in
Los Angeles, on April 11, 2010.
